Magic

The word is indeed Old Persian in origin (makuš or maguš). Magus was simply a Persian word for ‘priest’ and magia, consequently, was the art of cultivating the gods that had been established by Zoroaster Apuleius asserted that magus was actually the Persian word for ‘priest’.

Goddess Circe
