Magic

The word is indeed Old Persian in origin (makuš or maguš). Magus was simply a Persian word for ‘priest’ and magia, consequently, was the art of cultivating the gods that had been established by Zoroaster Apuleius asserted that magus was actually the Persian word for ‘priest’.

Goddess Circe

In Greek mythology, Circe is a goddess of magic (or sometimes a nymph, witch, enchantress or sorceress). By most accounts, Circe was the daughter of Helios: Titan of the Sun and Perse the Oceanid. Wikipedia.

Hekate

Hecate or Hekate is a goddess in Ancient Greek religion and mythology, most often shown holding two torches or a key and in later periods depicted in triple form.
